Founder & President
Brooks McFeely is the founder of MidnightTrader, Inc. (www.MidnightTrader.com), the leading
provider of extended-hours market news and corporate event impact analysis. McFeely founded MidnightTrader in mid 1999

Brochet Capital Partners, LP (www.BrochetCapital.com) a Washington, DC based hedge fund. |

A 1995 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, McFeely started his investment
career while serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower. McFeely earned his
degree as a certified financial planner (CFP), along with getting several NASD securities
brokerage licenses, while serving on the Eisenhower. He subsequently started a "financial planning
service at sea," able to help his 5,500 shipmates invest their money wisely. Toward the end of
his Naval service, McFeely took an interest in extended-hours trading as the SEC lifted some
regulatory hurdles allowing individual investors to trade before the open and after the close
for the first time. Understanding that the most significant market moving corporate news is
announced after the close of regular market hours, he noticed that there were no other news
services providing coverage of after-hours and pre-market trading. McFeely saw an opportunity
to fill the information gap for the millions of investors who were beginning to engage in
extended-hours trading. This was the inspiration behind the creation of MidnightTrader.
In 2000 and 2003 respectively, McFeely founded Pearl Investments (a black box trading firm) and
Brochet Capital Partners, LP, a pre-market and after-hours event driven hedge fund to take advantage
of extended-hours trading opportunities identified by MidnightTrader.
Brooks McFeely is widely regarded as one of the most knowledgeable sources on extended-hours
trading and equity electronic communication networks (ECNs). His commentary has appeared in leading
business media such as the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Newsweek, Investor’s Business Daily,
Business Week, Barron's, Dow Jones NewsWire, Reuters, MarketWatch, CNBC and BNN television. McFeely
was also a significant contributor to The After-Hours Trader, the first book published on after-hours trading (McGraw-Hill, 2000). |
